مجموعه کتاب‌های سامیت Summit از سطح نسبتا بالایی برخوردار هستند و در ادامه مجموعه Top notch از انتشارات Pearson انتشار یافته است. این مجموعه در تلاش است مهارت‌های چهارگانه زبان انگلیسی را یعنی مهارت شنیداری (Listening)، مهارت گفتاری و مکالمه (Speaking)، مهارت خوانداری (Reading) و مهارت نوشتاری (Writing) را به شکلی کاربردی و با هدف برقراری ارتباط صحیح و تاثیرپذیر به زبان‌آموزان نوجوان، جوان و بزرگسال آموزش دهد.

این مجموعه برای مدتی طولانی در آموزشگاه‌های معتبر زبان انگلیسی مورد تدریس قرار گرفته و نکته‌ای بسیار مهم و حائز اهمیت است نقش مدرس و معلمی است که قصد تدریس این دوره را دارد. با توجه به حساسیت این موضوع انتشارات Pearson کتاب راهنمای معلم این مجموعه را با عنوانTeacher's Edition and lesson planner Summit 2 منتشر کرده است.
همچون کتاب اصلی Summit 2، این کتاب نیز از ده درس تشکیل شده و هر درس در آغاز اهدافی که باید در آن درس دنبال شوند را در بالای صفحه به مدرس بیان کرده است.

شیوه آموزش قواعد و نکات دستوری (Grammar) در این کتاب کاملا مطابق با آموزش‌های کتاب دانش‌آموزان بیان شده و نمودارهای گرامری قواعد را کاملا واضح و روشن به همراه مثال‌ها و توضیحات‌شان به همراه کاربرد آن قواعد در زندگی روزمره نشان داده که کار مدرسان را راحت ساخته است. پاسخنامه تمامی تمرینات و فعالیت‌های کتاب درسی به صورت تشریحی و با دلیل در این کتاب توضیح داده شده تا مدرسان دچار اشتباه نگردند. متن فایل‌های صوتی نیز در این کتاب نگاشته شده‌اند.

این کتاب تلاش کرده تا مدرس را در تمامی مراحل آموزش و ارزیابی و همه بخش‌ها و صفحات کتاب درسی یاری کند و شیوه تدریس و فعالیت مدرس در تمام صفحات به طور کامل توضیح داده شده است. از ویژگی‌ها مهم ظاهری این کتاب می‌توان سیمی بودن آن اشاره کرد که دسترسی یا نگه‌داری صفحات مورد نظر را تسهیل کرده. در کنار این کتاب نیز یک حلقه لوح فشرده قرار دارد که حاوی کتاب دانش‌آموز، فایل‌های صوتی، فایل‌های امتحانی برای ارزیابی و فیلم‌های آموزشی متنوع و فراوان برای دانش‌آموزان می‌باشد.

How to plan a Summit lesson
The suggested teaching times for each activity will yield a total teaching time of 45-60 minutes for each two-page lesson. Your actual teaching time will vary from the times suggested, according to your needs, your schedule, and the needs of your class.
Activities labeled "Option" or "Challenge" are additional to the 45-60 minutes, and the estimated teaching time for each is noted with the activity.
In addition, you will see other optional extensions to the material on the Student's Book page. These of course will also increase the time allotted to the lesson:

This online alternative offers a digital version of the Summit Workbook, Summit TV Video Program and Activities, and Internet-based projects. A teacher management system enables instructors and programs to monitor progress and tailor content to their students' needs.
The Summit authors strongly encourage you to view these lesson plans and accompanying options, challenges, projects, and extension activities as a menu of possibilities in creating the best lesson plan for you. You may wish to construct your lesson entirely without the options, challenges, projects, and extension activities, or to extend the lesson to do all possible activities. The suggested teaching times are provided to help you do that.
