درباره کتاب WORLD ENGLISH 1

World English، نام یک مجموعه چهارگانه جدید و مدرن آموزش زبان انگلیسی می‌باشد. این مجموعه، حاصل همکاری انتشارات Heinle و انتشارات National Geographic میباشد و سطوح متوسط را پوشش داده است. شعار این مجموعه، افراد حقیقی. مکانهای حقیقی. زبان واقعی میباشد زیرا در همه‌ی کتاب های آن جهت یادگیری بهتر زبان‌آموزان از مجموعه تصاویر و فیلم‌ها و برخی از مستندات شبکه National Geographic بهره گرفته شده که منجر به افزایش اشتیاق زبانآموزان به یادگیری میشود.
کتاب World English 1 دومین سطح این مجموعه می‌باشد و از دوازده درس تشکیل شده است. اولین صفحه هر درس، با توجه به عنوان درس، یک تصویر بزرگ اختصاص داده و گفته شده که هدف از مطالعه این درس چیست. این صفحه به زبان‌آموزان کمک می‌کند تا با کلیات درس آشنا شوند، سپس درس آغاز می‌شود.

اولین بخش هر درس به واژگان (Vocabulary) اختصاص داده شده و سعی شده تا واژگان را به وسیله تمرین و فعالیت آموزش دهد. سپس قواعد دستوری (Grammar) آموزش داده شده‌اند و سپس تمرینات مربوط به آن آورده شده تا افراد با کاربرد هر قاعده آشنا شوند. پس دو بخش واژگان و قواعد دستوری مهارت‌های چهارگانه آورده شده است. مهارت شنیداری (Listening) و مهارت مکالمه و صحبت کردن (Speaking) توسط تمرینات و فعالیتهای شنیداری و نوشتاری آموزش داده شدهاند. مهارتهای (Reading) و (Writing) نیز با یکدیگر مورد آموزش قرار گرفته‌اند.

استفاده از تصاویر جذاب و رنگبندی و تنوع تمرینات و فعالیتهای مختلف فردی و گروهی در این کتاب موجب خلاق و فعال شدن ذهن زبانآموزان و درنهایت یادگیری موثر میگردد. در کنار این کتاب، یک کتاب کار و تمرین (Workbook) نیز قرار دارد که شامل تمرینات متنوع و فعالیتهای گوناگون مانند پرسشهای جایخالی، سوالات جدول، پاسخ کوتاه، پاسخ کامل و پرسشهای متنوع دیگر این کتاب منجر به یادگیری کامل و مفهومی کتاب شده است. در کنار این کتاب سه حلقه لوح فشرده قرار دارد که یکی فایلهای صوتی کتاب درسی، یکی فایلهای صوتی کتاب کار و دیگری فیلمها و مستندات آموزشی مجموعه National Geographic را پوشش داده است.

Songkran is a very important festival in Thailand. It is the Thai New Year and we celebrate it from the 13th to the 15th of April. We celebrate it to say goodbye to the old year! and to welcome the new year. Traditionally, at Songkran we visit old people to pay respect. And many people clean their houses. But the best part of Songkran is when we throw water at other people in the street. We even throw water at strangers, but they do not get angry. It's just good fun.

But tomorrow the serious celebrations begin. People spend the whole year making costumes for Carnival. Tomorrow is their big day. There is a competition for the best costumes. The winners get money and a car. It's serious business.
