درباره‌ی کتاب Back Pack (2nd)

در سال‌های اخیر، آموزش و یادگیری زبان انگلیسی برای رده سنی کودک و خردسال اهمیت بسیار زیادی پیدا کرده است. یکی از مجموعه کتاب‌هایی که در این زمینه نوشته شده، مجموعه هفت‌گانه Backpack از انتشارات معتبر و نام‌آشنای Longman می‌باشد که در بسیاری از مهدکودک‌ها و آموزشگاه‌های زبان تدریس می‌شود. همه مدرسان و دانش‌آموزان به اهمیت ارزیابی و تاثیر آن در بهبود یادگیری واقف‌اند و به‌خوبی می‌دانند که ارزیابی هم نقش مکمل در یادگیری ایفا می‌کند و هم بر اشتیاق دانش‌آموزان برای فهم کامل‌تر مطالب می‌افزاید.
در کتاب‌ها Backpack، کودکان مهارت‌های چهارگانه اصلی زبان انگلیسی، یعنی مهارت شنیداری Listening، گفتاری Speaking، خوانداری Reading و خوانداری را در کنار واژگان Vocabulary و قواعد دستوری Grammar آموزش داده شده‌اند. البته سن کودکان در آموزش درنظر گرفته شده و یادگیری توسط موسیقی‌های جذاب کودکانه، داستان‌های جذاب و تصاویر و اشکال کارتونی انجام شده و به همین در ارزیابی و آزمون نیز باید سن کودکان را درنظر گرفت.
کتاب Assessment package Backpack starter through 3 به مدرسینی که به تدریس سطح آغازین Starter تا سطح چهارم level 3 پرداخته‌اند کمک کرده تا بتوانند آزمون‌هایی اصولی، صحیح و استاندارد مطابق با سطح و سن کودکان طراحی کنند تا آن‌ها را به بهترین شیوه ممکن ارزیابی و سنجش کنند. در بسیاری از مواقع، واژه‌هایی همچون آزمون، سنجش و ارزیابی، یک برگه که حاوی پرسش‌‍‌های تستی، صحیح-غلط، وصل کردن، جای‌خالی است را به‌همراه یک خودکار یا مداد و یک مدت زمان محدود و معین به‌یاد افراد می‌اندازد؛ این درحالی است که امروزه شیوه‌های سنجش میزان یادگیری زبان بسیار فراتر از این موارد بوده و به‌خصوص برای کودکان و نوجوانان بهتر است از این موارد استفاده نشود.
در این کتاب شیوه‌های مختلف ارزیابی کودکان به‌خصوص برای این دوره کاملا آموزش داده شده که شامل شیوه‌ارزیابی خلاقیت، پرسش و پاسخ کلاسی، سنجش میزان یادگیری براساس فعالیت‌های کلاسی از این قبیل هستند. همچنین راهبردهای نمره‌دهی و ایجاد اشتیاق یادگیری از طریق آزمون نیز به خوبی به معلمان آموزش داده شده است. لوح فشرده صوتی این کتاب نیز این مجموعه را کامل کرده و مدرسان به کمک آن می‌توانند مهارت شنیداری افراد را نیز مورد سنجش قرار دهند.

Oral Assessment Prompts
Unit 1 A. Display a variety of classroom objects such as a book, paper, a marker, and an eraser, or use picture cards. Hold up an object and ask the student, what's this? Prompt the student to answer (It’s a pencil). Continue asking the student about the other objects.
B. Have the student take out his or her Little Book story, Guess Again. Ask the student to identify colors pictured in the story. For example, point at a balloon and ask, what color is it? Prompt student to answer, its (red).
Unit 2
A. Use Picture Cards or pictures of family members to review family-name vocabulary. Say I have (two brothers). How many (brothers) do you have? Prompt the student to answer, I have one brother. Continue with other family members.
B. Ask the student to draw a simple picture of his or her family. Then, pointing to a figure in the drawing, ask the student. Who is (he)? Prompt the student to answer, (He's) my father). Have the student identify all the family members in his or her drawing.
Unit 3
A. Display the Unit 3 Poster. Point to a figure or object and ask, Does (it) have (a small nose? Prompt the student to answer, yes, (it) does. Or No, it doesn't. Continue with other figures or objects.
B. Direct the student's attention to the creatures pictured Student Book page 32. Ask the student to draw a picture of a creature of his or her own. Then, pointing to the drawing, ask the student, His many (yes) does it have? Prompt the student to answer, It bas (four eyes). Continue to ask questions about the creatures other features.
Unit 4
A.
Use Picture Cards or pictures to review clothing vocabulary. Point to your (shirt) and say, I'm wearing a (blue shirt). What are you wearing? Prompt the student to answer, I'm wearing (brown pants) Help the student identify the clothing he or she is wearing.
B. Display the Unit 4 Poster. Point to one of the figures in the Poster and ask the student, what is the (boy) wearing? Prompt the student to answer, (He's) wearing (blue shorts). Continue asking questions about other articles of clothing.
