درباره‌ی کتاب Top Notch Fundamentals A (2nd)

مجموعه شش‌گانه Top Notch، با هدف آموزش و تقویت مکالمه سالم و موثر برای جوانان و بزرگسالان، از انتشارات Longman، یکی از بهترین کتاب‌هایی است که افراد غیر انگلیسی‌زبان را برای تعامل موفقیت‌آمیز آماده می‌سازد. تلاش اصلی دوره Top Notch، این است که زبان انگلیسی را به شیوه‌ای ماندگار و فراموش نشدنی آموزش دهد و این هدف را، از طریق قرار دادن چندجانبه زبان‌آموزان در موقعیت زبان انگلیسی به پیش گرفته است.

اولین کتاب این مجموعه، Top Notch Fundamentals نام دارد. کتاب فوق متناسب با استاندارد اروپا، سطح مقدماتی A1 را پوشش داده است. کتاب Top Notch Fundamentals متشکل از چهارده درس می‌باشد و هر درس به موضوعی اختصاص داده شده که برای بزرگسالان کاربردی و جذاب باشد. هر درس، با آموزش واژگان (Vocabulary) آغاز می‌گردد. این کتاب، سعی کرده تا واژگان را به وسیله تصاویر آموزش دهد و لازم است افراد ابتدا هر واژه را چندین بار با دقت گوش کنند و سپس با تکرار هر واژه، تلفظ صحیح آن را یاد بگیرند.

پس از واژگان، نوبت به قواعد و نکات دستور زبانی (Grammar) می‌رسد و سپس، بخشی آورده شده که راهبردهای مکالمه صحیح و کاربردی از طریق ترکیب نکات دستوری و واژگان را آموزش می‌دهد و (Conversation strategies) نام دارد. از آن‌جایی که قصد بیشتر افراد از یادگیری زبان، مکالمه می‌باشد، لازم است به این بخش توجه خاص و ویژه‌ای شود. سپس مهارت‌ شنیداری (Listening)شده که تقویت تلفظ صحیح را نیز پوشش داده است.

در بخش بعدی نیز دو مهارت خوانداری و نوشتاری (Reading and Writing) آموزش داده شده‌اند. هر مهارت، ابتدا آموزش داده شده و سپس، به وسیله تمرینات و فعالیت‌های کوتاه تکمیل شده و کاربرد آن آموزش را نیز نشان داده است. در پایان هر درس نیز، یک بخش مروری آورده شده که به افراد کمک می‌کند تمام محتویات درس را مرور کنند. در بخش دوم همین کتاب، بخش کار و تمرین قرار دارد و افراد به وسیله حل تمرینات جای‌خالی، تستی، جدول واژگان، صحیح یا غلط، وصل کردن و تمرینات دیگر، به درک عمیق مطالب دست خواهند یافت.
